MST Night

For all those who came to mst night....good job. As used to be my custom, I took pictures(trying to revive it). Taking a look at them, you will notice that I am not very good. Oh well. I still enjoy doing it. Enjoy the few that actually turned out.

Christmas Cookies

This is mostly for the grandparents...

Daniel and Melanie made Christmas cookies.

Daniel mostly wanted to eat the dough.

This is a cookie that Daniel managed to make himself.

Trimming the tree II

As a follow up, Daniel did finally end up pulling the tree down on himself.

Trimming the tree

Tonight we trimmed the tree. I won't say much except that Daniel was utterly confused by the whole ordeal. We would tell him to leave the ornaments on the tree, but he just didn't get why we would want to do that.

Helping mom put up the decorations the first time.

Taking down the decorations.

Mom helped put them back up.

Once again, taking down the decorations.

I am going to watch Mama Mia

If you were to ask me about 2 months ago what is on the top of my list not to do, I would have said "Have a colonoscopy and watch Mamma Mia!".

But last week this all changed for me(not the colonoscopy). Recently my family and I spent a week in Hawaii. On the flight over we were hot, stuffy, sore and tired from wrestling our 2 year old Daniel.

About the time the in flight movie came on, Daniel fell asleep across our laps. We were trapped, no ability to grab headphones and participate in the movie with everyone else on the plane or even settle in enough to sleep. So for 2 hours I watched the silent version of Mamma Mia. I entertained myself by making up dialog for the actors and substituting songs for the musical numbers (think Run DMC). But in spite of all of this and my complete apathy for the movie I found my self wanting to know more about the story. Who were all these shiny happy people singing, dancing and generally cavorting across the tiny plane TV? Was Pierce Brosnan after the mother or daughter(either seemed likely to me)? Would the bank heist (or wedding I couldn't tell which it was) be a success?

And so, now I am in the unexpected, and unfortunate position of needing to watch Mamma Mia! So if you hear me humming Abba tunes for the next little bit, please just lay off!
